# MCP Server Recipes

Recipes are pre-built server templates that create a fully configured project in one click — tools, prompts, resources, and contract imports included.

## How recipes work

1. **Pick a recipe** during onboarding or from Project → New
2. **Import a contract** — the recipe wizard asks for the contract address and networks
3. **Apply** — ChainContext creates all the tools, prompts, and resources defined in the recipe, with your contract details substituted in

Recipes use placeholder substitution (`__CONTRACT__`, `__NETWORK__`) so the same template works for any contract address.

## Recipe requirements

Some recipes require specific plans:

| Plan        | Recipes included                                            |
| ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Free**    | Basic read-only recipes                                     |
| **Builder** | Recipes with multiple tools or AI descriptions              |
| **Studio**  | Recipes using HTTP blocks, webhooks, or advanced transforms |

The recipe picker shows plan badges and prevents selection of recipes above your current plan, with an inline upgrade prompt.

## Creating from scratch

Don't see what you need? Start from scratch:

1. Project → New → **Start from scratch**
2. Import your contract
3. Build tools manually using the block builder
